Keeping the ‘bubbly’ in champagne

Leftover champagne? If you don’t have a metal champagne stopper on hand, keep the bubbles at least 24 hours by dropping a spoon handle into the open bottle and refrigerate.  That said, true champagne connoisseurs never have trouble finishing the bottle!

A dash of sugar to bring out flavor

To bring out flavor in soup, potato salad and tomato sauces, add a touch (‘a little bit’, ‘a dash’, ‘a skosh’ ‘un petit peu’) of sugar.
